Why do people treat us this way? We helped them, but they will not help us!?

Me and my family help every body in the neighborhood as much as we can. We give drunks food, homeless people numbers for help, and other things to many people. We treat them with all our respect but when we need a little help, non monetary for example, they screw us in every way that is possible. Like all we ask for them is a phone number, but they screw us in every way by giving us a fake number and all that stuff. They even say they got help from that number, but when we call it, it is fake! Even family and friends screw us. Why do people do this to my family and I? We never did anything to them! It is like they just met up in the neighborhood and black listed us and told everybody not to do anything for us!
